Who We Are

The Order of the Daughters of the King is an organization of women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate.  Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service.  A Daughter pledges herself to a life-lomg program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strenghtening of the spiritual life of her parish.

Our Motto

For His sake
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?

What is on our Cross and Why-

Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine - is Latin for
With heart, mind and spirit, uphold and bear the Cross.

At the bottom, FHS symbolizes the beginning of our
Motto and the reason we are Daughters - For His Sake.

Prayer is so simple. It is like quietly opening a   door and slipping into the very presence of God. There in the stillness, we can listen to His voice, or even petition. What we have to say matters . . .   not just to be there in His presence is prayer.
